He was launched as an actor alongside actress Rakshitha, in the movie Appu. He started a tradition of singing one song on his own in his movies with “Taliban Alla Alla”, which continued in most of his next movies.

His second movie, titled Abhi was another blockbuster which was released in 2003, the movie saw the debut of sandalwood queen Ramya.

For us, it was a brilliant start to 2004, as his third movie Veera Kannadiga hit the threatres on Jan 1st, a movie which was simultanously released in Telugu as Andhrawala which starred actor and friend NTR Jr.

His second movie for the year released 10 months later in October, which was titled Maurya where he played the role of a sportsman for the first time.

In the year 2005, we saw two movie releases the first in April titled Akash, which gave all us kannadigas some lovely songs.

His second movie for the year, Namma Basava. Which was released in September within just 5 months of his previous.

In 2006, Ajay his only movie was released in June where he played the role of a sportsman once again, this time a kabbadi player.

In 2007 he gave two mega hits the first Arasu, where he played the role of a heir of a billionaire.

The second movie of 2007 was Milana, where he played the role of an RJ.

In 2008, the first of two movies released in February titled Bindaas.

In October of the same year we saw him in the police uniform for the first time in the moovie Vamshi.

The first of two movies released in 2009 was Raaj, the movie Raaj which was directed my Prem, went on to become a huge hit.

Towards the end of the year, we saw him on the big screen once again in the movie Raam alongside Priyamani.

These next couple of years introcuded us to a new generation of movies and brought him huge success. In his first movie of 2010 he played the role of an IAS officer in the movie Prithvi.

Later that year in October he came back with the movie Jackie. A movie which created waves in the Sandalwood cinema industry.

In 2011, his first movie of the year Hudugaru which focused on the true value of friendship was released in the month of May.

This next movie of that year was one that will be remembered forever Paramathma, was brought to screens in October that year.

The next year 2012, we saw another set of super hits by him. Once again his first movie of the year was released in May, Anna Bond which showcased his new level of fitness.

Following which his second was released in December titled Yaare Koogadali.

Unfortunately for us, we did not see any release in the year 2013. However, in early 2014 we saw him back on the screen with the movie Ninnindale, a movie which was shot mostly abroad.

Again in August we saw him in the Police role with a movie title which defined him, Power.

In 2015 his fans got to see him in the movie Rana Vikrama where he played the role of a cop again.

2016 and 2017 were great years for his fans. In 2016, he was seen in the movie Chakravyuha with the sceen name Lohtih, his birth name.

But, that was not it, later that year his 25th movie was released titled Doddmane Hudga, where he acted alongside seniors such as Ambareesh, Sumalatha Ambareesh and Bharthi Vishnuvardhan. Apart from that, by singing the song Abimaanigale Nam Mane Devru in his movie, he won the hearts of the people again.

In 2017, a household favorite movie titled Raajakumara where he acted alongside Priya Anand was released a week after his birthday. This movie entered a new level of work in the industry as it was brilliant in all aspects, story, acting, songs, dance, and even fights. The movie ran over 100 days in multiplexes.

His second movie for the year Anjaniputra where he acted alongside Rashmika Mandanna, was released towards the end of December. A movie displaying the value of a mother and family.

Unfortunately in 2018, we did not see any of his movies hit the theatres. In 2019, he returned to the silver screen ealry on the movie Natasaarvabhowma. A movie starring two actresses and focused on justice for women, acheieved through intelligence.

With the pandemic going on, movies were on hold and we did not see any release in 2020. But in summer 2021, he returned to the theatres with Yuvarathnaa. An inspriring movie which speaks about the education system and importance of education for students.

His last commercial movie James, for which the dubbing was done by his brother Shivanna was finished and released on his birthday as the best gift for his fans. A movie which was focused on the Army, where he played the role of a Soldier.
